Do you have a favorite piece of furniture? It’s not something we think about often, but we all have one for some reason or another. My favorite piece of furniture that we have is our dining room table.

When we were moving into our apartment, we had to find a dining room table. Our dining room itself in the apartment was small, so we had to be picky about size in addition to the things we were already picky about: style, color, type of wood, etc. We went to so.many.places. to try to find the perfect table- and since I was 8 months pregnant, this wasn’t exactly fun. But finally, at the store that we hadn’t wanted to go to but was our last resort, we finally found it. It wasn’t even on display with the other tables- it was tucked in the back, toward their warehouse, almost hidden from view, but we saw it. &It was perfect.

It’s become the center of our family: we play games there, eat there, color& paint& create there, and even celebrate birthdays & other special days there. It’s where Shane had his first bite of solid food, and smashed his first birthday cake, and made his first fingerpaint masterpiece. So, we love our table.

As you can see, our table is well-loved; that said, it’s also well-worn. It’s got plenty of nicks & scratches & even a few stains from particularly stubborn paint & some stray Easter egg dye. I don’t want to damage it any further, so I clean it carefully, and when possible I just use my Guardsman Reusable Ultimate Dusting Cloths.
