How was your Valentine’s Day?
Las Vegas Mommy Blogger, Foodie & Product Reviewer
Yeah, yeah- I’m now almost two full weeks behind. Well, better late than never, right?
January 23rd:
{Ignore the blur; my camera had the flu too apparently}
In honor of Chinese New Year, we hung red paper lantern in Shane’s doorway. He loved them even though he kept calling them balls & when they fell down he threw them down the stairs.
January 24th:
Yep, totally forgot.
January 25:
I’m aware of how boring this picture must be to you, but I realized that day that even after having sat at this desk for a combined 3 & a half years, I had NO pictures of it. Then, I forgot to take any other pictures that day so this became my picture of the day.
January 26:
I told Shane it was time for bed, so he hid in a box. Let’s just say he doesn’t have a future as a ninja.
January 27th:
When I got to my in-law’s house to pick up Shane, he was out riding his motorcycle {which he calls a mous-cous as it’s one of the last words he can’t say} and looking like a total badass.
Since I skipped a day this week, I’m cheating & posting a second pic of him on the motorcycle because he’s so cute it hurts.
January 28th:
Insert heart attack here. We started renovating our garage & when Justin moved a box, he found this beast. This photo does it’s size NO justice.
January 29th:
Since we had missed my Dad’s birthday the week before {January 22nd} thanks to the flu, we stopped by for awhile & Shane got to play video games with Uncle Joey {my brother}.
Are you doing Project 366? Leave your link in the comments so I can check it out!
I’m aware that I’m currently in Week 5 & so this should have gone up two weeks ago, but as you’ll see in the pics- I was SICK. This week I’ve been feeling better but still have this yucky cough- it doesn’t seem to notice it has overstayed it’s welcome.
Anyway, even though I was sick I still managed to capture photos on like, half of the days of Week Three:
January 16:
Good news: the toddler bed is being put to good use.
January 17:
{Ignore the broken cabinet- I totally tore the door off somehow.}
Shane was all grins & giggles on the 17th…..
January 18:
…But on the 18th, he came down with the flu. Yuck!
January 19:
The next day, we were BOTH too sick for me to even change his clothes. Not pictured: his other foot, which is missing a slipper. Pictured: SOMANYTOYS. We were too sick to care about the mess.
January 20- 21:
I kind of went into a flu induced coma that consisted of watching 10 episodes of Parenthood on Netflix, lots of tea, and lots of whining. Shane at least started feeling better- and Justin was completely awesome about helping out with him.
January 22:
This picture is crazy blurry & the colors are distorted or something, but I couldn’t pass up sharing the look my dog is giving Shane. It’s a mixture of “WTF” and “Augh, fine” that I’ve never seen a non-human express. I HAVE seen Justin make this face a lot though so I know where she gets it.
Week Four is coming soon so I can actually be caught up- but at least I’m still going!
Are you doing Project 366? What’s your favorite pic you’ve gotten so far?
Somehow I’ve managed to continue taking a photo-a-day so far this year! In fact, I’ve been taking a LOT of pictures, which is pretty awesome, but it’s making it hard to narrow down all the photos to choose just ONE for each day! I guess that’s what Facebook is for though, right?
So without further ado, here are my Week Two photos!
January 9:
Shane got a new “Monkey Movie sweater” {Curious George} at Target that he is obsessed with- he wanted me to take a picture of the Monkey Ears on the hood. The ears, combined with the fact that the sweater is one size too big, makes the sweater SO cute.
January 10:
Still in his Monkey Movie Sweater, Shane stalked Bella for the better half of the afternoon. She didn’t seem to mind.
January 11:
I’d had a headache for four days by the time Wednesday rolled around, so Justin & I went and got some frozen yogurt on the way to pick up Shane after work.
January 12:
Thursday night, my Mother-in-Law-ish {Shane’s “Nomi”}, Shane & I went to see Toy Story 3 on Ice! {Review coming soon!} Shane had a BLAST- I wasn’t sure how he’d do since he’s never gone to a show before but he sat, paying attention, the entire time! I got him a Buzz Lightyear plush before the show & everytime the Buzz in the show did something cool, Shane would fly his around. It was adorable & the whole show made for a great memory.
January 13:
Friday I had to stay home from work, so Shane & I spent the day playing Candy Land- his first time ever playing a board game! He didn’t quite grasp it but he still had fun.
January 14:
Despite having had a headache for six straight days by this point, Justin & I took Shane to the Springs Preserve on Saturday. I hadn’t been there before other than for a wedding once, but it was fun & Shane loved it {until he started having a fit from being tired} so we’ll be going a lot more!
January 15:
On Sunday, Justin & I finally cut Shane’s hair {We tried on Christmas Eve & Shane got so upset he threw up & put himself in time-out, so we had kind of been avoiding it} and rewarded him by taking him to the park & getting ice cream. Despite the rocky start with the haircut, it ended up being a really fun day.
What’d you do this week?
You’ve probably heard of Project 366 {usually Project 365, but this is a Leap Year} by now but just in case: Project 366 involves taking a picture every single day for a year. I’ve decided to attempt this for 2012 {note: I said attempt} but I don’t want to post a picture every single day so I will be sharing a recap once a week! So, here are my photos from the first week of the year:
January 1:
I hadn’t decided I was doing this Project yet, so I didn’t take any pictures. #Fail.
January 2:
We had our PartyLite playdate/party &Shane really took a liking to one guest in particular- Baby E! Shane is obsessed with babies & he watched this one the whole time he was over.
January 3:
Uh. I already forgot to take a picture. The second day I was doing this. My bad.
January 4:
Shane dumped out the “to donate” box of clothes in his room & sat in the box- until he tipped over.
January 5:
We went to the park to meet my Mom & my Grandma, who was in town for the week visiting. It was a beautiful day out so the park was great. We went to lunch, too- where Shane not only ordered broccoli but actually ate it, too.
January 6:
Shane got into the “to donate” box again- and dumped it’s contents AND the contents of every drawer in his dresser all over the floor. Awesome.
January 7:
Watching the loud car in front of our house {the neighbor has a particularly noisy car- that Shane of course LOVES}.
January 8:
Before heading to the Coinstar machine & grocery store, we stopped for bagels {Shane’s new obsession} for breakfast.
Do you participate in Project 366? I’d love to see your post{s}- link them in the comments!
