I’ve always been an ocean girl, which may sound crazy coming from someone who grew up in the desert. As a kid though, we would make the drive to California every year to see my grandparents, and while I loved visiting with my family, the beach was the highlight of the trip every time. I even got engaged on the beach! So of course, one of my absolute favorite Pixar movies is Finding Nemo- and soon-to-be Finding Dory!
This June, Finding Dory is swimming in to theaters and bringing with it some of our favorite Pixar sea creatures. Dory, Marlin, and Nemo are returning, and we’re going to get to meet a whole new set of friends from under the sea!
About the movie:
Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” reunites everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?
Directed by Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo,” “WALL•E”) and produced by Lindsey Collins (co-producer “WALL•E”), the film features the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O’Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton. “Finding Dory” swims into theaters June 17, 2016.
Finding Dory hits theaters on June 17th- but that’s a long time to wait, so here’s a little preview:
While I’m excited to meet some new animated sea creatures, I’m also excited to get an up close view of some real ones next week!
To celebrate Finding Dory coming out on June 17th, I’ll be attending the #FindingDoryEvent with a group of great bloggers next Monday & Tuesday {3/7-3/8}. We’ll be screening parts of the movie {!}, interviewing some of the filmmakers {like 2-time Oscar winning Director Andrew Stanton} and animators, and getting a VIP tour of the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium houses more than 35,000 creatures from over 500 species, and has nearly 200 exhibits. The aquarium opened in 1984 and has been inspiring ocean conservation ever since.
I hope you’ll follow along with me next week on social media {I’ll be posting on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!} and beyond here on the blog as I share everything I’ve learned- about the aquarium and about Finding Dory!
You can also follow the Finding Dory hashtags #FindingDory and #HaveYouSeenHer on social media to keep up with updates from the movie!
