Just in time for Earth Day, Disneynature’s Bears is out today! The newest in the Disneynature series, Bears follows a bear family for a year and focuses on two sweet young cubs. The scenery is bound to be beautiful as it takes place in Alaska, and like all of the Disneynature films, you’ll get a fascinating insight into the lives of animals you’d never get to see otherwise.
About the movie:
In an epic story of breathtaking scale, Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure “Bears” showcases a year in the life of a bear family as two impressionable young cubs are taught life’s most important lessons. Set against a majestic Alaskan backdrop teeming with life, their journey begins as winter comes to an end and the bears emerge from hibernation to face the bitter cold. The world outside is exciting—but risky—as the cubs’ playful descent down the mountain carries with it a looming threat of avalanches. As the season changes from spring to summer, the brown
bears must work hard to find food—ultimately feasting at a plentiful salmon run—while staying safe from rival male bears and predators, including an ever-present wolf. “Bears” captures the fast-moving action and suspense of life in one of the planet’s last great wildernesses—Alaska!
Back in August, I shared the trailer for Disneynature’s Bears & admitted to you all how I totally choked up watching it in front of a group of my peers. I chalked it up to pregnancy hormones and an irrational love of animals, and assumed that once I had the baby I wouldn’t be so emotionally invested in the movie. Yeah, totally not the case. In fact, it might be worse, now that I’m taking care of my baby and watching the Mama Bear take care of hers!
Because I’m an emotional masochist, I plan on going to see Bears whenever we can get a night out. In the meantime, I’ll just be sitting here with a box of tissues watching the featurettes! I’ve included some below in case you’d like to join me.

I haven’t seen either documentary yet but want to see both. I think it would be neat to see either a cheetah or an elephant.

I would like them to do a documentary on the Cheetah. They are the fastest land animal and I would love to see how they live in the wild.
