On the 9th, one of my good friends {and guest reviewer} Lexi threw me a bridal shower! It was so much fun & since she’s a chef, the food was amazing! I haven’t gotten pictures back from anyone yet & I didn’t take many myself since I was busy but I do have a few!
Before the shower, a team came to do my hair & makeup. I hired them for my wedding & we needed to do a trial, but I didn’t want to pay for a trial & then sit at home all day, so I decided to do it the day of the shower!
My hairstyle was INTENSE- it took 47 bobbi pins to keep that up! {It doesn’t help that I have insanely thick hair- and lots of it!}
Like I said, the food was amazing- Lexi made her famous gazpacho, chicken marsala, pasta, some snacks and one of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted! It had coconut & strawberry & it was so, so good.
We played fun games, including one where everyone had to make a wedding cake out of Play-doh! I was supposed to pick the winner but they were all so perfect & I loved everyone at the shower so much that I made everyone vote. We also played the game where you get points for all of the random objects in your purse & per usual, I won that one {I have a Mary Poppins bag} but I forfeited since I was the bride & my soon-to-be Mother-in-Law won! I somehow had 11 granola bars in my purse. I’m thinking Shane had something to do with that.
I got a couple of {super blurry} photos of my wonderful friends & family who attended- my Mom & Justin’s Mom, my bridesmaid Alyssa {“Iffy”}, my cousin & her daughter, my Great Aunt, and a few of my awesome “Mommy friends”.
I had such an amazing time & I so appreciated everyone taking the time to come celebrate- and a special thanks to Lexi for throwing such a great shower!

how lovely. And my mom’s famous cake is a hot milk cake with a cooked strawberry icing covered in coconut. When I saw yours it made me think of every birthday I had growing up. The icing is cooked so it is super fluffy and light, not like a buttercream.

I did the same thing, had a makeup trial for my shower. I wish I had done one for my hair though; it took so long to do that it put me way behind. ah, memories
