Justin & I both love our coffee. Justin has a hot mug of coffee on the way to work every day, and I love to enjoy with a {lukewarm} cup when I need an extra pick-me-up. While we usually love using K-cups for their convenience, we prefer using our own coffee in our Keurig machine. Using an adapter, we can easily add our own ground coffee. It saves us money over using K-cups every time, and it makes it easy to get our favorite flavors or varieties of coffee, even if we can’t find them in a K-cup.
I’ve shared for you my love of Smart&Final’s Ambiance coffee before, back when I shared my Chocolate Dipped Biscotti recipe. We still love their coffee, especially because it helps us save even more money on our coffee. &It tastes great, too! My 16 year old brother rides the bus to school. He rides the same bus that I rode to high school 7 years ago- and walks to the same bus stop. He does all of this at 7am, when it’s still below freezing most days, and I remember how insanely cold it always was. I also know that he loves coffee & drinks it all the time, so I knew I wanted to surprise him with the coffee gift basket!
I went to Smart and Final, where I found a huge selection of coffee! They had everything from whole beans to instant to convenience packs like K-cups. I opted for two varieties of whole beans, because nothing smells better than freshly ground coffee beans! I bought him a coffee grinder to go with it, because those beans are of no use without one. Then, since it goes so perfectly with coffee, I picked up some yummy chocolate goodies: a giant Hershey’s bar, a box of Valentine’s chocolates, and some cocoa sprinkles for the top of his coffee! &Since I want him to be able to bring the coffee with him to the bus stop, but I don’t want him to have to carry around a travel mug all day at school, I also got him some t0-go hot cups so that he can bring it & toss the cup when he gets to school.
I brought the gift basket {really a bag since I put it in a reusable Smart and Final bag} to my parents’ house to give to my brother & he definitely liked it! He really is such a huge coffee fan that those giant bags might be gone by the end of the week. {Okay, maybe not quite… but close.} &I may or may not have taken a piece of his Valentine’s candy.

It depends on my mood. In the morning, I like it hot and strong with lots of cream. Later in the day, I like it iced with a mixture of sweetened condensed milk & evaporated milk. After dinner, my favorite is a mocha with whipped cream!

I’m not a coffee fan, but my husband is! He starts his morning with an espresso concoction and proceeds from there. Not really sure just how much coffee he drinks in a day, but the boy never needs a nap, that’s for sure!

I like my coffee differently depending on my mood. When I am in a serious work mode, coffee is black, little sugar. If I am relaxing, a flavored coffee with complementary cream and sugar. Or at night, after dinner, add a little ‘Irish’ and relax. I don’t know what I would do without my daily coffee.
