Tonight is New Year’s Eve, which means that many of you will be heading home in the next few days from visiting family & friends over the holidays. But before you do, LifeLock has some great tips to help you stay safe while traveling!

1. Password Protect: Setting a password on your phone can help limit access to personal information in the event that it is stolen while traveling. Be sure to avoid using the passwords 1234, 1111, or 1231 as they were all among the most common passwords of 2012.
2. Keep it Professional: When filling out your luggage tag, supply the address to your office or place of work. This helps to keep your home more secure.
3. Be Watchful: ATM skimmers {devices that can copy your card information} are small enough to be hidden in an ATM at the airport, or even a small kiosk at a theme park. Be sure to regularly monitor your card activity, even when traveling.
4. Keep Kids Safe: Be sure that they have their address & phone number memorized in case you are separated, and remember that children under 4’9” are required to be in a booster seat.
5. Arrive Early: Make sure to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight during peak travel times like right now. The high volume of travelers means long lines & traffic jams- not only is that added stress, but it may mean the difference between making your flight or not.
LifeLock has plenty of other great tips for safe traveling that you can learn by playing the LifeLock for Life Sweepstakes on the LifeLock Facebook page! Every month, you can play the sweepstakes to learn how to make your life a bit safer as well as enter to win great prizes! Thanks for the great tips.
These are all wonderful tips to keep in mind during travel. It’s sad you have to watch out for ATM skimmers these days.
