Next week is Halloween, which of course brings with it trick-or-treating. But the treats don’t end on October 31st! The next two months are sure to be chock full of yummy treats & delicious desserts. But that doesn’t mean we can skimp out on our health!
It’s especially important for us as parents to make sure that our children are getting the healthy foods they need. But at the same time, we want our children to enjoy the holiday spirit as much as possible. Since I’m all about balance and moderation, I came up with a yummy dessert sandwich that would be great for your child’s lunchbox, or for your next playdate!

Choco-Fluff Dessert Sandwiches
Ingredients:
Chocolate Hazelnut Spread
Marshmallow Fluff Spread
2 slices Wonder Bread Smartwhite for Kids
Cinnamon Sugar
Directions:
Spread the Chocolate Hazelnut Spread onto one slice of bread
Spread Marshmallow Fluff on the other slice
Sprinkle lightly with Cinnamon Sugar
Cut into fun holiday-themed shapes using cookie cutters!
The hazelnut spread & marshmallow fluff may not be packing that much nutritional value, but the bread definitely does! Wonder Bread’s new Smartwhite for Kids has the taste and texture your kids love but is baked with no high fructose corn syrup and is only 50 calories per slice! It’s also fortified with the fiber of 100% whole wheat bread, contains the calcium of an 8-ounce glass of milk, and is a good source of 9 essential vitamins & minerals. It is the perfect ingredient for a balanced treat!

How do you add nutrition to your holiday treats?
