It is amazing that a lot of us are alive. Think about what “safety measures” for riding in the car were around when you were a kid. I know my parents grew up driving in cars that didn’t even have seat belts- and when I was a kid and I needed to hitch a ride with my aunt, her car didn’t have seatbelts in the back, so she’d have me sit in the front when I was just five. But, don’t worry- I was sitting on a The Little Mermaid pillow so I wouldn’t get hurt.
Thank goodness things are a lot safer now. Even in the three years since Shane was born, technology for car safety has improved so much! In fact, in March 2011, the American Academy of Pediatrics {AAP} changed their recommendation for when to switch your tot to face forward in the car. When Shane was little, the recommendation was at one year or twenty pounds, whichever came first. Now, it’s literally doubled- to two years, or until they hit the weight limit for their car seat.
So why is that? Well, according to the AAP, toddlers are more than five times safer riding rear facing in a car seat. &I don’t know about you, but I’d do anything to keep my kid safe. But what if you have a large child who outgrows their infant car seat well before their second birthday? With the new Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40, that won’t happen!

I recently attended a #GracoSafety event hosted by Emily from Our Knight Life and learned all about the amazing features of this new car seat!

While most infant seats are small, which is great for a newborn, they don’t adjust as your little one gets older. The new Graco Click Connect seat is the only infant car seat that provides rear-facing protection for babies from birth to 2 years old. The car seat can grow with your baby all the way from 4 to 40 pounds! That means your child will have that extra safety clear up until their second birthday and you won’t even have to buy a second seat!
Beyond the safety aspect, which is enough to buy the seat for alone, it has some really convenient features as well. The base reclines to eight different positions to give your baby the most leg room possible so that they are comfortable as they continue to grow. The headrest and harness can be adjusted with just one hand to fit the right height for your child as they grow- without having to rethread the harness. {If you don’t have a child yet, trust me when I say this is HUGE.} &Of course there’s the feature that the seat is named after- the “click”! The Click Connect attachment allows parents to easily transition their babies from the car seat to the stroller with just a click- which is absolutely great if you don’t want to wake a sleeping baby to run into the store!
Buy It: The car seat is available in two adorable patterns- Moonstruck for boys/unisex & Mena for girls. The seat retails for $219.99 and is sold exclusively at Babies R Us, both online & in store.
You can learn more about the car seat by visiting the Graco Safety website!
More about the seat:
The Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 – the first and only newborn to two-year infant car seat that actually grows with your baby from four pounds all the way up to 40 pounds. The car seat is designed for a parent on the go. The infant car seat can be easily removed from the base and used as a carrier when the infant is small, providing portability and convenience so you can easily move your infant in and out of the car without disturbing them.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recently made the recommendation to keep all children in rear-facing car seats until the age of 2. Graco set out to make this product so parents can keep infants rear facing longer while still keeping them comfortable.

Thanks for posting!
It is really a relief to have so much more safety features on these new car seats. It’s amazing just the difference in what’s available now as opposed to when our first baby was born 8 years ago!

I love that it reclines 8 positions.
I still remember when I was a kid. My car seat was my moms lap. Thankfully times have changed.
