It’s Playtime with Peppa Pig! {Review}

One of Shane’s favorite shows is Peppa Pig. It’s this cute show about a little British girl pig named Peppa & her family- little brother George, Daddy Pig & Mummy Pig. Each short episode has a story & a positive lesson, and there is a lot of fun and laughter. In fact, Shane has copied many lines he’s heard on the show to use as jokes.

We recently received some of the new Peppa Pig items that are available at Toys R Us {just in time for the holidays} and he loved them all!

We were both the most excited for the Peppa Pig Peek ‘n Surprise Playhouse playset as Shane is really into playsets {he has a treehouse, a zoo, a house, and a barn that are played with daily and others that make it into the rotation sometimes too}. He immediately added the Peppa Pig one to his favorites list.

I think his favorite part is that you can change the pieces- you can have an empty table or one set for dinner, or you can have a regular bathtub or a bubble bath. Shane liked changing the scene and being able to choose what each character was doing! A couple of times he was pretty rough with the pieces {he is three, after all} and they came apart, but it was very easy for me to pop them back together. He still hasn’t permanently broken anything, which is impressive.

If your little one loves the playset, you can get additional add-ons for it, too! These range from a car and classroom to tiny sets like the family four-pack {so you can be Mummy or Daddy Pig, too!} and the ice cream cart one that we received. Shane quickly added the cart to the playset as an additional accessory, and it’s nice having two Peppa’s & two George’s {one from the playset & one from the additional set} so that Shane can share with me or his friends.

Shane also loved his Hug ‘n Oink Peppa Pig Talking Plush! He is always a little cautious about things that make noise, so it took him a few minutes to warm up to it. Once he did though, he couldn’t get enough of her snorting! He carried her around & hugged her for a long time.

Then of course, he asked to watch the movie! The Peppa Pig: Muddy Puddles and Other Stories DVD consists of 10 short “peppasodes” so you can let your child just watch 1 or 2 or you can play the whole 60 minute DVD if you’re trying to get work done. The DVD contains some of our favorite episodes and I could hear Shane cracking up from the next room.

Finally, we cuddled into bed with the book Peppa Pig and The Lost Christmas List and read a cute story about Christmas. Shane loved Christmas last year, but is having trouble remembering what it is, so I’m excited to reintroduce all of the wonder of it to him. He loved this book & made me read it so many times that in less than two days he was quoting lines of it!
