Throwing a Halloween party for kids can be loads of fun! But you have to make sure it is pretty well organised, children can be lot more discerning than you think and they are a lot quicker and more vocal than adults when it comes to complaining! Remember, you don’t have to go it alone, there will be a lot of happy parents in the neighbourhood when they hear you are providing an alternative to their children being outside on a cold dark night, so don’t be shy to enroll some help!
Other than a lot of help, here are some of the things integral to your perfect spooky soiree!
Invitations – Any kids party is much better organised when you have invitations made. The RSVP will give you a good idea of numbers and further information about the guests such as special dietary requirements etc. Handmade invites are always so much better and can be a great activity for you and your children, not to mention save you money!
Costume – Obviously it should be a fancy dress party with but don’t forget, you have to dress up yourself, as well as having to sort Halloween costumes for your little monsters! You can have loads of fun when it comes to fancy dress costumes even hand out prizes for the best dressed.
Games – You need to keep the party regimented so make sure you have a time table in your head for activities. Some great ideas for games include, a spooky scavenger hunt, bobbing for apples, pin the broomstick on the witch or a homemade Halloween piñata.
Food – Spooky themed food is always much more fun than normal food on Halloween and, if you are clever about it, you can dress up a lot of healthy snacks as something a lot more interesting to children!
