Enhance Your Home with Glade Expressions

What makes a house a home? Obviously it’s the people that live there, but it’s more than that. A home isn’t spotless {trust me} or sterile. It may be clean but there are signs that someone lives there: it may be the dirty socks that are just to the left of the hamper {ahem, Justin}, a couple of toy cars left out on the coffee table {Shane…}, or even a few dust bunnies hiding away in a corner somewhere, sadly neglected by the vacuum cleaner {yeah, that’d be my bad}.

No matter what gives your home character, there’s one thing it definitely has: a smell. Whether that smell is fresh baked cookies, burning pot roast, dirty soccer gear, fresh flowers or something else totally varies from house to house.

I associate my mom’s house with the smell of Nag Champa incense since that’s what it smelled like growing up. Every time I get a whiff of that scent, it instantly brings me back to my childhood. Twenty years from now, I want Shane to have similar flashbacks when he smells yummy things- not the sweaty shoes that he leaves in random places. So to make sure that my house always smells good, I keep air fresheners in every room.

I have asthma, so I try to avoid the ones that spray just because they can trigger an attack. So I love the air fresheners that release a constant {but faint enough to always be pleasant & not overpowering} scent! I have used a few different kinds but a new favorite is the Glade Expressions line of Oil Diffusers!

They come in several scents so you can pick the one that matches the personality you want your home to have. I like to maintain a calm and relaxing household, so I chose Lavender & Juniper Berry. I put the diffuser on the top of our staircase so that the scent floats down the stairs and can also be smelled from the rooms upstairs. Not only does it look pretty, but it enhances our home by giving it character through scent! It also manages to cover up whatever smell happens to be coming from Shane’s room at the time, which enhances everyone’s happiness.

Glade Expressions are available as an oil diffuser {pictured} or as a fragrance mist. You can get either one in Cotton & Italian Mandarin, Pineapple & Mangosteen, Fuji Apple & Cardamom Spice or Lavender & Juniper Berry.
