Check Out Room 77 to Find the Perfect Hotel for You!

I’ve spent a lot of time in hotel rooms this year. Each one had it’s pros and cons, but most of them were chosen for me {like the bed & breakfast we stayed at during our family Nebraska trip & the ones for the Disney press trips} so while they were usually very nice, I didn’t really have much of a say in what features they had. So when I was planning our weekend in San Diego for Shane’s birthday, I literally spent hours on the San Diego zoo website’s “hotel partners” page comparing features & amenities for each hotel.

I wasted so.much.time. comparing those hotels, and while the hotel we stayed at was nice, it wasn’t nice enough to justify all of the time I spent looking for it. Luckily I now know of a much better way to find the perfect hotel- Room 77!

Room 77 is a website that lets you search for the hotel that’s right for you. You can search for the features that matter the most to you {free hotel internet, anyone?} When I look for a hotel I want three things: free wi-fi and free hotel parking are must-haves, and it’s nice if they have a free breakfast, too. So when I was sorting through all of the hotels listed on the San Diego zoo’s site, I just opened ALL of the hotel listings & closed each one that didn’t have those amenities. I was still left with over 50 to sort through though, and eventually I just picked one. Room 77 lets you select the amenities that matter to you & then eliminates the ones that don’t have them for you, so you don’t spend hours reading tiny descriptions!

For example, I typed in “San Diego, CA” as my destination & it found 405 results. By selecting Free Wi-Fi and Free Parking, it instantly dropped down to 193. Rather than searching through all of them, I made my criteria more selective: I chose a free breakfast {down to 131}, and then selected only 3, 4 or 5 star hotels, leaving me with 19. By getting a free breakfast, free parking & free Wi-Fi, any of these hotels would actually be a great deal, but I further eliminated some by making my price cap $149 a night.

I was left with 8 hotels to choose from- and even better, if someone other than Room 77 had the best deal on the room, they actually let me know! &Since they have photos & layouts of the hotels right on their website, I didn’t have to go to each hotel’s website to make sure it was clean & nice, either. They even had Trip Advisor ratings & links to the direct links to that hotel on the Trip Advisor site to read the reviews! Everyone knows how important reviews from real customers are when deciding on something like that & so I spent a lot of time on Trip Advisor last time- but this time, it’s built right in!

By using Room 77’s search tools, I was able to find a pretty room in a great price range, with all of the free amenities I care about- and it took me under 10 minutes rather than 2 hours.

I can’t wait to use Room 77 to find a hotel for our honeymoon this spring in Hawaii!
