Growing up, I was a super picky eater. My mom would always try to get me to try new things & I made it my personal mission to avoid anything beyond PB&J as much as possible. I feel so bad for her now since my own little one seems to have taken on the same characteristic, which is even more annoying because I finally do try new things now- even things that I refused as a kid.
One of those things was Bagel Crisps. My mom loved them & always bought them, but I didn’t get them. Why not just eat regular chips? I never even tried them, I just decided that I didn’t like them. {Although at least I’m grown up enough now to admit that!} A few months ago though, I did try them. Curiosity got the best of me, and they really did look tasty. I picked up a bag of New York Style Bagel Crisps & was immediately disappointed that I had wasted so much time protesting them!

They’ve become a pantry staple around here, since I am a total chip person but can’t trust myself to have actual chips in the house because I’ll go through a whole bag by myself. The Bagel Crisps {and a few other great choices that I’ve shared before} are a great alternative because they taste like chips & still give the same satisfying crunch, but fill you up much easier so you don’t polish off a bag without even realizing it!
Recently I was sent two different varieties to sample- the Original Bagel Crisps in Roasted Garlic & the new Mini Bagel Crisps in BBQ. All three of us {yes, even Shane!} loved all three of them, but I think the Mini Bagel Crisps were a huge hit. We’d already tried the Original crisps, but I love the Minis because they are easier for Shane to eat & I just really liked that they were thinner- they were more chip-like than cracker-like, which I think is a good thing. {&By the way, I’m saying that based on a handful of crisps- Shane & Justin ate almost the entire bag the first day before I even had a chance! Don’t worry- I bought more.}

New York Style Bagel Crisps make a great snack for entertaining! They’re so easy since they come ready to serve- just add some hummus in a complimenting flavor or even a variety of cheeses and you’ve got a yummy & super simple appetizer! We mostly ate them by themselves since they were already good, but I did eat some of the garlic ones with some original hummus & it was absolutely delicious.
It’s a great option for summer entertaining especially since there’s no need to heat up the oven {and therefore the whole house}, and it’s a cold dish which is always refreshing in the heat. For summer snacking, we always stick to cold foods that are pretty light but yummy- like fruit with a dab of whipped topping or veggies {and now crisps} with hummus!

Right now, New York Style is hosting the Bagel Snack Star Sweepstakes on their Facebook page where you can win a red carpet movie experience with your friends & family! The Grand Prize winner will have the chance to win a private VIP photographed & catered experience at their local movie theater and New York Style will rent out the theater for 50 guests! The winner will also win a gift card for a year supply {$500 worth} of movie tickets! We go to the movies a lot, so I’m dying for this prize! If you want to enter, be sure to head over to their Facebook page soon- the sweepstakes ends September 2nd! {&Be sure to follow on Twitter while you’re at it!}
How do you keep summer snacking light but delicious?
