Recipe: Toffee Sugar Cookies with Caramel #TemptYourSenses

I love coming up with new recipes, especially when they’re inspired by something besides food. So when Renuzit & Social Fabric asked me to come up with a recipe that was inspired by their new Tempting Indulgences line of dessert-scented products, I jumped on board!

Renuzit sent me two delicious new scents to sample for inspiration: Crème Brulee and Chocolate Covered Cherries. I love the smell of both of them, but the Crème Brulee one was really good, so I used that as my inspiration!

I headed to my local Vons to check out ingredients to try to decide what to make- you can see my entire shopping trip by checking out my G+ album!

I decided that it would be way too obvious to just make Crème Brulee, and I don’t have one of those super hardcore torch things anyway, so that was out. But the cone smelled to me like sugar, toffee, and caramel- so I put the three together & came up with Toffee Sugar Cookies with Caramel!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup toffee chips
  • Caramel sauce as desired

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Beat butter and sugar with electric mixer on low {or by hand} until creamy
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, blend
  4. In a separate bowl, combine baking powder, salt and flour
  5. Slowly pour dry mix into butter and sugar mix {while the mixer is on, if using one}
  6. Mix on low for 1 minute
  7. Stir in toffee chips {you can use more than one cup if desired} and mix for 30 more seconds
  8. Spoon dough onto cookie sheet{s}
  9. Bake for 8-10 mins
  10. Allow to cool on cookie sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to fully cool
  11. Just before serving, drizzle with caramel sauce

    Awesome! How fun! Your recipe looks and sounds delicious too. I am a renuzit junkie and have at least 6 of them around my house at all times! My favorite scent is cinnamon but they don’t make the strong cinnamon one anymore.
