The hardest thing about new Motherhood to me was struggling with my new body. I knew that giving birth wouldn’t make the baby weight go away, but for some reason I didn’t think about how much my stomach’s skin had been through, having to stretch to accommodate a 7 lb. child & all the other fun stuff. I guess I kind of just expected that once I was back to my pre-baby weight, I’d look the same as before.
I was so, so, so wrong.
Shane’s almost three &somewhere between then & now, I came to peace with the changes my body has gone through. After all, they were the result of creating a life & bringing that life into the world- no small feat. But that doesn’t stop me from daydreaming about getting a tummy tuck some day.
