Food Photography 101: My Portfolio

After six weeks, my food photography class at Social Fabric University has come to an end! I learned SO much in the class, like how to play with angles, how to edit using pixlr software, and what is probably the single most important lesson: use natural window light- coming in from the side!

Below is my “portfolio”- my five favorite shots that I took for class.

Photo 1

This was one of my first shots for class, and I can still taste that photo shoot!

You may remember this one from my Orville giveaway- I loved the retro Popcorn box in this one so I had to include it!

Minestrone Salad

Another you may remember from my ConAgra party! {I like to multi-task.} This one was fun because I enjoyed playing with angles.

I took this one for the very last unit & it makes me hungry every time I look at it!

&Another you may recognize- the Quaker Soft Baked Bar. Yum!

This was a very informative course & while it moved quickly and had a few snags along the way {the class is on a platform few of us were familiar with so we had a few technical glitches that they’re working on} I really enjoyed it. I feel like I learned a lot & while my photos aren’t ready for Martha Stewart Living, they’re definitely a noticeable improvement over my photos from before the class!

I’m excited because now that I’m more confident about my photography, I feel comfortable sharing more recipes here so keep an eye out for those!

&Thanks for the great lessons, SoFab U!
