I’m about to start teaching Shane from home, and we’re going to be focusing on themes. Since we’re starting off with pets, I figured a trip to the pet store was in order!

Hi, I'm Shell! I'm a 20-something mom to a wonderful three-year-old named Shane. He was born on August 13, 2009 &is the love and light of my life.
A close second is his Daddy, my high school sweetheart {Justin} who I have been with since September 6, 2004. ♥
After several years as an administrative assistant, I am currently a stay-at-home Mom. When Shane is older, though, I plan on going into elementary education.
In the meantime, I'm just trying to figure out this whole "Mom" and "Wife" thing to the best of my ability- without losing too much of my sanity in the process.

I’m sure Shane loved that, a little boys dream all those little critters! My son use to have Newts when he was little.

Did your child get any pets in the end? My kids love visiting pet stores too but I’m against them having pets at the moment as they are a bit too young for one.

One of my FAVORITE outings with the kids is to take them to the pet store. How FUN is this? And hey, at least you didn’t come home with a puppy or anything! Not that I’ve ever done that. *Ahem*

We love going to the pet store. It’s actually one of my son’s favorite rewards for behaving while I shop, He gets to play with the puppies, and they’re grateful to be played with. But it’s so hard not to leave there with a new pet every time we go.
Have fun homeschooling! It was a wonderful adventure for us and a very special time.

Yeah, luckily this one doesn’t have puppies because we’d never get out empty handed. I’ve been known to spontaneously adopt.

Agreed! The tarantula was even worse- it was too gross for me to even take pics of.
Awwww such cute pictures! When we go to the pet store the only thing my oldest cares about at all is the fish. I so desperately want to get her some more…. she has one gold fish she won at the fair, but we would need a bigger aquarium with a filter and all that, right now he/she/it??? is just in a small glass bowl…. ok, sorry for the rambling. Anyhow…. good luck with the home schooling and have fun!!

Yeah, we have a tank that used to be super cool- we had several types of sharks & other super cool fish. Most of them died because we suck as fish parents but we still have one GIANT plako & two tiny sharks {a red tail & a rainbow} but they hide during the day so we have a big ol’ tank that seems empty. lol
Wow, those are cool critters! Teaching from home will be quite the adventure!!

For now, at least. I’m just barely starting to learn anything about it & it won’t be formal schooling- he’s not even 3 yet so we’re mostly doing like, structured fun with some learning at this point. But I am trying to learn as much as I can so if you have any recommended resources send ‘em my way!
