Clean Up & Do Good with Glad Black Bags!

I have always really liked stuff. &Hated getting rid of it. All my life I’ve been a bit of a clutterbug, and I’ve finally gotten to the point where I am SO over it.

Over the last few months, I’ve found myself spending my free time decluttering & trashing most of my stuff. It’s not some extreme minimalism thing- I just have SO. MUCH. STUFF. Between my clutter & all of the stuff Shane has outgrown, we’ve been collecting a lot of donations around our house! But when I say a lot of stuff I mean it- which is where our Glad Black Bags come in!

Glad Black Bags are stronger than regular garbage bags, so you can fill them up with more stuff & use less bags. They are tear resistant, too, so you can even put the weirdly shaped items in there that would rip another bag wide open.

We also use the Black Bags in our yard for the same reason- Justin spent last weekend cutting down our apple tree {which I’m sad about, but it had to go}, cutting it into pieces & putting it into the bags. He did the same with the branches of the other trees & even two dead bushes. Because the bags are so big, he had to do way less cutting down & didn’t have any tears from the sharp branches!

Glad recently partnered with the Picker Sisters & Keep America Beautiful for a creative art auction! The art pieces were designed by Jason Mecier and were mosiacs made up of garbage that was either donated by various celebrities or collected by Great American Cleanup volunteers at various cleanup events across the country.

The auction ended on April 26th, and Glad managed to get over $1800 to donate to Keep America Beautiful- not bad for a bunch of would-be trash! You can learn more about the auction on their ebay page!

You don’t have to be a professional artist to upcycle your trash! There are tons of things you can do- one idea is to make a mosiac table! My mom made one when I was a kid that she still has that serves almost as a time capsule for our family. My Grandfather, who has since passed away, designed his own section of the table, I made a design & included a piece of a stone unicorn I had recently broken, and my brother, who was really little at the time, even got to throw some glass stones onto the table. Now, whenever I look at the table, I remember when we made it & I think of all of the family members who made it together!

Whether you’re clearing out clutter, cleaning up your yard, or collecting trash to turn into treasure, be sure to try Glad Black Bags!

&Be sure to check out Glad’s Facebook page to enter their The Wild Life sweepstakes- you could win $25,000 or the daily $100 prize, and you’ll get a $1 off coupon just for entering! Good luck!

Susie’s Note: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Glad Black Bag and received a Glad Black Bag product and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Even living in a tiny RV, I accumulate so much stuff over the working season that I have to clear out every six months. I use those big black Glad bags to put things in to donate to the thrift store. Another bag holds stuff that will be tossed out. I don’t know how I could manage without them.
