Care for Baby’s Sensitive Skin with Aquaphor! {Review & $50 Visa Gift Card Giveaway}

Winter may be over, but babies- especially those with eczema- can have sensitive, dry skin year-round. Shane & I have learned this the hard way as we both have extremely sensitive skin. I struggle with finding products that don’t irritate his skin but I’m happy to say I’ve found a great solution!

Aquaphor has two great products that are made with tots like Shane in mind. Not only do they have a great Gentle Wash & Shampoo that is mild, tear-free and fragrance-free, but they have a Healing Ointment for when he gets outbreaks anyway.

I love the Aquaphor Baby Gentle Wash & Shampoo for a few reasons. First of all, it’s a 2-in-1, so I don’t have to use a separate shampoo & body wash. This is especially nice since Shane hates actually getting clean anyway, so the faster we get it over with the better. Secondly, it’s genuinely tear-free as since I’ve been using it, Shane has stopped freaking out about me rinsing his hair & he just rubs the water out of his eyes when we’re done with no complaints. &Third, the “fragrance-free” scent is amazing. If you use fragrance-free stuff right now you’ll know what I’m talking about: fragrance-free just means no added fragrance, it doesn’t mean the stuff doesn’t smell. Each brand’s fragrance-free smells a little different than the last, but this one genuinely smells good. I actually feel like I’m putting fragranced body wash on him because of how good it smells- but it isn’t, so he doesn’t get rashes like he would if it really was fragranced.

The Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment is great, too. Shane had these nasty rashes on his hips where his diaper tabs rest and for over a week I had been applying diaper rash cream in an attempt to ward them away. When that didn’t work, I put Band-aids over the rashes, hoping to avoid the chaffing that the diaper tabs must have been doing. Not only did it not work, but it made the rash worse- apparently his hyper-sensitive skin had a reaction to the Band-aids! Just when this was all happening, I happened to get my sample of the Aquaphor Healing Ointment in the mail and within 2 days of using it, the rash blisters had all healed over & they’d all begun to scab.

I’ve personally used Aquaphor products on my sensitive skin & so I’m not surprised that their baby line is so impressive. If you have a little one with sensitive skin {or you just want a really good smelling baby wash!} be sure to check these out!

    I use Eucerin Original Moisturizing Cream, so I already know I like that. I don’t see it listed in their product list. I hope it’s not discontinued! I’d like to try the Original Healing Soothing Repair Creme or Aquaphor healing ointment.
