Wordless Wednesday {with Linky}: My Pizza Raccoon

Tonight for dinner we made a pizza for the first time {vs. buying a frozen one}. I decided to do it because it sounded yummy but also so that Shane could help make it- I’m trying to get him to help with cooking when possible so he’s more likely to actually eat what I serve him. Pizza is the one food I can usually get him to eat but I think that since he helped to make it, he wanted to really enjoy it- and for some reason that included putting pizza on his eyes.

Seriously, how do you get food between your eyes?!?

Ah, well- at least he ate.

#Blog4Joplin Update

As you may remember, I talked about the #Blog4Joplin campaign on this site almost a month ago & told you I was accepting advertising spots with 100% of the proceeds going to Joplin, MO. Well the total has been tallied & the total is in!

Here’s more about Bloggers for Joplin from Melissa over at A Sippy Cup Mom, who organized this whole thing! {So please be sure to send her some congrats- she earned ‘em!}

——————-

Last month, I announced that I would be accepting June advertisers with the proceeds going to help the town of Joplin, Missouri.

I was blown away when I had over 40 bloggers contacted me to let me know they wanted to do the same thing.

Together, we created Bloggers for Joplin.

We spread the word and got amazing advertisers on board, along with a couple of generous donations.

I have met amazing people during this that have became friends and I am so proud that we all came together to help.

We were able to donate an initial $1,348 to the Heart of Missouri United Way.

The Heart of Missouri United Way is working with no overhead to provide 100% of donations to help Joplin, Missouri.

After that initial donation, we still had donations rolling in from generous advertisers.

We were able to donate an additional $130 for a total of $1,478!

You can check out my not-very-exciting video of me making initial donation via Paypal.

All additional donations were made by Paypal also.

A HUGE thank you to the blogs that participated in this event:

Please make sure to check out these bloggers and advertisers! Without them, it never could have happened!

Please remember to keep the town of Joplin, Missouri in your thoughts!

———————————

Isn’t it amazing what a group of bloggers can do in such a short time? My sincere thanks to all of you who either bought ad space somewhere, sold ad space on your blog & donated it, donated just because, talked about it with your friends or even just took the time to read about the fundraiser or the devastation in Joplin in general. It’s hard to pay attention to these things sometimes, because it could so easily have been our own families & we don’t want those negative thoughts in our minds. But I know that if something like this did happen to my family, I’d want people to help if they could & that’s exactly what we tried to do. So again, thank you.

Susie’s Note: I would especially like to thank my sponsor, the fantabulous blog The Magic FarmHouse!

Sponsor Spotlight & Giveaway: Snuggle Paws!

I would like to reintroduce you to my friends at Noodle Head! I’ve brought you giveaways before from them- their Travel Buddies & Pawparazzi Pets have made my animal-obsessed son very happy in the past, and their newest product did not disappoint!

Snuggle Paws are the newest product from Noodle Head- similar in concept to the popular pillow/stuffed animal combo but SO MUCH BETTER, Snuggle Paws are a pillow, blanket & bestfriend set in one! Snuggle Paws come in dog or cat, pictured below:

The arms on the pets have velcro on the paws so that they can be wrapped around the rolled-up blanket, and they have handles on their backs to help carry them easily!

Shane & I received one to try out {we chose the pup- Shane loves pink but he prefers dogs to cats} and honestly, they are the softest and more snuggle-able stuffed animals ever. The dog was made of that awesome plush material that you can’t really explain but your fingers kind of just melt into.. if you’ve ever felt the material, you know what I’m talking about. &The blanket- WOW, the blanket is so soft I actually used it as a pillow on the couch the first day we had it so that I could snuggle with it! It’s so soft & cozy & just the right size for a toddler or young child! {According to their site, the blanket size is 29″ x 30″}

They are easy to attach to a stroller or to luggage, so if you’re going somewhere soon {or even if you’re not!} these are a great option for travel so your little one can have a pillow, a blanket and a friend alongside them on their journey!

You can buy your very own Snuggle Paws on the Noodle Head website for $25.00 OR you can win one right here on {Not Quite} Susie Homemaker! {&You can choose the dog OR the cat!}

Review & Giveaway: Scotch-Brite Products!

So here’s a little known fact about me: I like to clean.

I know, I’m {Not Quite} Susie Homemaker, shouldn’t I hate it?

No, I just suck at it.

I should be more specific- I suck at organizing. I loveeee organizing, and organizational products, but for one reason or another, everything still ends up pretty cluttered & disorganized.

But when it comes to cleaning, like with scrubbing on your hands & knees cleaning, I actually find it theraputic. The continuous action allows me to think and to work through whatever is on my mind- and since the cleaning products & tools are doing the real work, I can’t really mess it up.

That said, the cleaning job you do can only be as good as the tools you use! I have some cleaners that I really like, but as far as cleaning tools? I had none. I used paper towels with my glass & surface cleaners and a washcloth on the shower. It got the job done, but not well.

I was recently sent some of the Scotch-Brite Bathroom Solutions line and I can SO tell the difference. Everything is  shinier, and I’ve noticed I don’t have to put in as much work to get the results I want, either. Instead of scrubbing the same spot ten times with a washcloth or paper towel, I just go over it once with the Non-Scratch Angled Scrubber & I’m good to go!

The whole line of products gets a big thumbs-up from me!

Pictured {left to right}: Streak Free Mirror Cloths, Non-Scratch Shower & Bath Scrubber, Non-Scratch Tub Scrubber, Grout Scrubber, Non-Scratch Angled Scrubber, Nook and Cranny Scrubber, Reusable Counter Cloths

Some highlights from the line include that the Counter Cloths actually pick up hair instead of just push it around, the Angled Scrubber can get into the crease between my faucet & the wall {an amazing feat since my faucet is not only way too close to the wall, but crooked}, and the Shower & Bath Scrubber’s long handle means I can reach even the top tiles!

Now, one lucky {Not Quite} Susie Homemaker reader is going to win their very own set of the seven items pictured above! Hooray!

Giveaway: Thomas the Train Prize Pack!

Remember last month when I gave away a super awesome Olivia prize pack? Well, this month it’s the boys’ {&those train-loving girls’!} turn!

Shane has recently taken a severe liking to trains, and Thomas in particular. Every time Thomas comes on Sprout he yells “CHOO CHOO!” so loud it scares the dog and immediately runs to collect all of the various trains he owns. Even now, he’s behind me as I type playing with his “choo choo” on the futon. So we’re really excited for this month’s Kidtoons movie, Thomas: Hero of the Rails!

See Thomas & Friends™ like never before in this new action-packed movie. Follow Thomas as he discovers Hiro, an abandoned engine from a faraway land. Fearing that Hiro will be scrapped, Thomas enlists the help of many friends, but mishaps, mistakes and one boastful engine could foil their rescue plans. Watch and find out if they can work together to help their new friend in the most heroic movie of the year!

If you’re unfamiliar with Kidtoons, they feature a family movie in tons of movie theaters nationwide- all presented as matinées so that the whole family can go! Every month, they play a new family feature, and this month it’s Thomas!

Check the theater list here to see where you can catch this movie event!

&Even better? This month, in honor of Father’s Day, Kidtoons has a coupon for buy one, get one free tickets! Click here to get yours {along with a super cute coloring page!}
